You should just write that. One long, really long, 50,000 word sentence listing everything that you would like to write about.

You should just write that. One long, really long, 50,000 word sentence listing everything that you would like to write about. It'd require about 20,000 word of purely actual subject matter -- the nouns and verbs about which he wants to write. ... that'd be a daunting, daunting task.

I hear Billy Joel is keen for it... I suspect that to get that reference, I'd have to like Billy Joel quite a bit more than I do.

NEARLY THERE! I'm going to fall behind for the first 4 days because of exams, but then it's go time! I'm going to be horribly stressed and time consumed for most of November (especially for the first week) what with the disasterous family life ... but I shall be doing my best to keep up! (Still haven't done the time-line! Whenever I sit down to do something writer-ish Mum finds something new to panic about or there is an argument >.< I cannot even read without her constantly fucking talking! I should have finished, "Making Money" Pratchett, last week but she interrupts EVERYTHING. By the way: TOTALLY recommend "Nation" by Pratchett - to everybody - yes, you! I see you reading this ) Any who's ... enough of me bitching! HERE'S TO ALL THE AWRIANS GIVING NANO A GO!!! THE MINUTE YOU WRITE A SINGLE WORD YOU ARE A FUCKING WINNER! <3 !!! GOOD LUCK AND SEE YOU AT THE 50K FINISH LINE!One more nights sleep before all hell and insanedom is freed. Say hello to more sleepless nights, lots of coffee and chocolate, and blowing things up in your plot because you hit a brain-jam! Going to write as much as possible on day 1 so I have a buffer. Dunno what your plans are?

HERE'S TO ALL THE AWRIANS GIVING NANO A GO!!! THE MINUTE YOU WRITE A SINGLE WORD YOU ARE A FUCKING WINNER! Ohhh ..... don't say that. I'm already a chronic procrastinator. Someone tell me that if I don't finish I'll contract leprosy and have to duel Darth Vader with a cardboard tube instead of a lightsaber.

*Puts on serious face* Taed, if you don't finish you'll contract leprosy and get blue and purple spots all over and have to duel Darth Vader with a cardboard tube instead of a lightsaber wearing a cat woman costume. ... *sniggers and loses serious face* You know what, forget the cat costume, you'll have the cat's costume.

So, uh, having a little trouble with my story. There are two sides in the conflict ahead. The Church vs. The Government. In my world, robots are pretty much replacing humans in nearly every menial task imaginable, from cashiers, to waiters. Something akin to the Great Depression is setting in, where no one's buying anything, the stock market's gone to hell, more than 15%, and growing, of the population is unemployed, and the only thing keeping capitalism alive are businessmen creating industries for things that cost nothing to make, the poor's willingness to work for downright stupid amounts of money in gruesome factory jobs, and the fact that some jobs are just handled better by humans (doctors, and chefs, for example). No one disagrees that something ought to be done about this situation, but what to do is where the opinions diverge. And this is where I get stuck. I know the Church's basic tenets are hard-work, self-discipline, and creativity, so their ideal solution to the problem would probably be something like keeping a perverted form of capitalism around, and build a lot more robots, while the Government would probably start the economy from scratch, put most of the population on welfare, and have all of society revolve around a class of citizens devoted to keeping the robots in working order. But that obviously doesn't solve the problem, make sense, or really bring the two sides into conflict, so I need something else. . . more differences. . . better solutions. . .

Someone tell me that if I don't finish I'll contract leprosy and have to duel Darth Vader with a cardboard tube instead of a lightsaber. Oh, please! You'll be fine Just set yourself mini-on-reaching-XYZ-goal-treats :] Or better yet: set yourself harsh-punishments-for-not-reaching-XYZ-goal I'm still pondering about that damned time-line! Luckily some of it can be written out of sequence though. So if I get stuck I can just skip a chapter and come back to it later. I know most of Chapter 1 and 2 since its already been written several times (although it'll be in a different country and time-period this time ... thinking latter end of the medieval period! Woooo! :] )
