Stephen doesn't truck with science. Look at how he called 'almost half' the population ' millions of people'. I wasn't going to comment on that I make ONE spelling error -.- I meant billions.

Don't do that. Surely less people and no fancy gadgets = super boring. It would be much more amusing for them to give us laser guns and jet packs. Say they're doing it to preserve Mother Gaea or some such nonsense (can you guys tell that when Stephen was telling me this idea a while back he said I should be the one leading the machine cults?) You fabricated that last part about leading the machine cults, you do know that right? Nuh-uh. I don't remember the exact details, I admit, but you definitely gave me the role of some dieselpunk warlord like Lord Humongous, served by loyal subjects and techno-apostles.

Anyways.....I really want a focus on the magic aspect. So too many explanations for the events makes me feel like I may end up losing that aspect.

I think it's creepier if it's unexplained anyway. Don't even include the bit with the council of godheads. You don't want to characterize the anomaly, you want to keep it primal and mysterious. Are those people dead? Are they alive? Was it God? Was it Satan? Was it the Earth itself? You can include some speculation here and there but I wouldn't even try and explain it.

((Thank you for taking it seriously now)) Yeah that's what I thought too. You and Zovo both make good points. I don't know.... I think I will just stick to the creation of villages/clans, factions, and characters. I need more apostles since I only have three or four. Good news is I have my "Judas".

What if, instead of all the people disappearing mysteriously. . . what if instead they left of their own volition. As in, one night during dinner, a member of the family just gets up and leaves, never to be seen again. Maybe hops in the family sedan and goes for a drive and just doesn't come back. And it happens all over the place; you know, to almost half of the population.
Maybe not all in one day, but over time.
