Note on times: All times are in US-EST, and the common deadline will be 3am EST. That's 2am CST, 1am MST, 12am PST, 9pm New Zealand, and 8am GMT. It's also 10pm on -the day prior- for Hawaii.
January 6 - January 12
Twelve writers will write the entries for the first round. Introductions will be sent out on January 6 at 3am EST, and the deadline will close at 3am EST on January 12. All entries must be received by that time. PM entries to Dragon, do -not- post them.
Notes on introductions: Introductions will be story passages of 75 to 150 words, which cannot be altered and must be used as the beginning of an entry. These will be PM'd to the writers, not posted in a thread. There is no limit to the length of pieces.
January 12 - January 15
Reviews will be open from January 12 at 3 EST to January 15 at 3 EST. To vote for stories, you will send one PM to Dragon, containing all reviews and votes you are making for this round, any time you have finished reviewing (you don't have to review them all, if you don't want to) from January 9 at 3 EST to January 12 at 3 EST.
Note on reviews and votes: You must review a story to vote for it. You cannot vote for your own match. Votes are to be made in a 'thumbs up' or 'thumbs down' manner. In other words: one person wins the match, the other loses -- that simple. Making references to Gladiator during these votes is encouraged.
January 15
At 3am on January 15, voting will close. During that day the entries and reviews will all be posted by Dragon in their corresponding threads. In the event of a tie, a psychic snail will make the conclusive vote. If one is unavailable, a judgement call will be made by Dragon.
January 16 - January 23
Round two begins when introductions are PM'd to the remaining six writers at 3am EST on January 16. Writing will take place through to January 23 at 3am EST. PM entries to Dragon, do -not- post them.
January 23 - January 26
Reviews will be open from January 23 at 3 EST to January 26 at 3 EST. Gather all reviews and votes for entries from this round and PM them to Dragon.
